WELLNESS TRAVEL TIPS
- Falling is okay! If you are only focused on the outcome, you are going to miss all the little things in between. Learning to surf brought everything Elena has gone through in life full circle. Surfing may not be for you but something out there could do the same for you, so don’t miss out on the little things! It’s not all about the destination!
- The first question to ask yourself when planning that solo trip/time is, why is it that you need to get away? Is it just because you need to reset, because you need sleep… Pick your destination and design your itinerary depending on this answer, so that your trip will fit with that purpose.
- Don’t get caught up in checking things off your list! Fully embrace what’s around you, instead of getting stuck in your expectations. Expect the unexpected!
- Allowing for downtime in your trip can go a long way with how the rest of you trip will go.
FAVORITE TRAVEL GEAR
Elena’s travel ‘uniform’ is a pair of Athleta pants and shirts, both short sleeve and long sleeve. She always has a scarf as one of her layers. She is also very much a carry on only girl, and her choice of luggage is Eagle Creek.

I LOVED this episode! It confirmed some decisions I have made and the life I live now. I was just nodding my head and even laughing out loud e.g when your daughter told you she likes singing instead of meditating 🙂 I have an 11 year old daughter, she is my travel buddy and it is true that the best one-on-one times we have had is when we are out on a trail and she has my undivided attention.
I love hiking and adventure travel. Hiking is so therapeutic for me and always try include it in my trips.
I noticed you the cover on this podcast – that must be Angels Landing in Zion. One of my favorite hike which I still remember the feeling of being up there for the first time – top of the world feeling 🙂
Keep up the good work vacation mavens!!!
Yay, we are so glad you found this reaffirming!
